Tom Frederick

Tom Frederick, age 62, resident of Cooperstown, ND passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at his home in Cooperstown.

Tom was born February 8, 1948 in Scobey, MT. Tom was the fifth of six children. They moved to the family farm in Flaxville, MT until 1950, and then moved to Plentywood , MT where he grew up. Tom attended Plentywood High School and graduated in 1966. Tom was always into athletics during his years at school. He enjoyed outdoor sports such as hunting and fishing through most of his growing up years and into adulthood as well. Tom and his brother Jim loved to ride motorcycles and fix up old cars. Tom joined the US Navy in 1969 and was discharged in 1972. Tom was awarded several meritorious awards. After the Navy Tom worked for the plumber in Plentywood , MT for 3 years. He then became employed at Ziedler Hardware where he worked for the next 12 years. He met and married Connie Burgard in 1980. They had their first child, Daniel, in 1981. They then moved to Towner, ND in 1984. Their next child, Ashley, was born in 1986.

Tom worked at Winger Cheese in Towner for nearly 20 years until Winger Cheese closed its doors in 2003. In 2004 Tom and Connie moved to Cooperstown, ND where Tom went to work for Jerry Hook until he closed his doors 2 years later. Tom then went to work at Sheyenne Tooling where he finished out his working career.

Tom began his battle with cancer in March of 2009. He is survived by his wife Connie, son Daniel (Stephanie), and daughter Ashley McNamara (Scott), five grandchildren, Isaac, Alexis & Alicyn Frederick and Miles & Ayva McNamara, four brothers, David & John Knudson, Jim & Larry Frederick, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother Lillian Hendrickson, father James Frederick and sister Betty Jorgenson.

Funeral services for Tom will be held Friday, Sept 24, 2010 at 11:00 AM in St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Towner, ND. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 3 PM to 5 PM with a 5 PM vigil service in the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel. Visitation will continue at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Towner, ND starting at 9:00 AM. Special music will be provided by April Brandt. Casketbearers will be Jessica Wolter, Sarah Volk, Shayne Volk, Les Knudson, Leon Nelson & Levi Inscore. Interment will be in the St. Cecilia Catholic Cemetery, Towner, ND.
