Verla Mae Erickson

Verla Mae Erickson, age 87, resident of McVille , ND passed away Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Nelson County Health System - Care Center in McVille.

Verla Mae was born December 4, 1922 the daughter of Thomas and Ragna (Bergley) Hanson. She grew up and attended country school near McVille. She helped numerous families in the Larimore, ND area with their household chores. On April 2, 1943 she married James Erickson in McVille , ND . They lived and farmed in rural McVille until 1971 when they moved into town. Verla Mae was a dietary aide at the nursing home for seven years. James died in 1993. Verla Mae was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church , rural Kloten , ND .

Verla Mae is survived by her daughter Judi (Norval) Berg of Gwinner, ND; 2 grandsons, Jason Berg of Lisbon, ND and Justin Berg of Gwinner; 1 great grandson, Jace Berg of Lisbon; special friend Clarence Flohaug of McVille, ND and niece Dagny (Jack) Ritteman of Salol, MN.

Verla Mae was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother Robert Hanson, 2 sisters, Bernice Flohaug and Lillian Thompson.

Funeral services for Verla Mae will be Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 1:00 PM in Our Savior's Lutheran Church , rural Kloten , ND. Officiating will be Reverend Cheri Danielson. Organist will be Mary Lou Krogh. Soloist will be Paul Odden. Casketbearers will be Morris Aaser, David Aaser, Wesley Shobe, O'Neal Johnson and Orvin Hanson. Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the church. Interment will be in the spring at the McVille Cemetery . Arrangements with the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home of McVille.
