Vivian J. Dahl

Vivian Jesse (Willis) Dahl, age 100, of Pekin, ND, formerly of Tolna, ND died peacefully at home on April 8, 2014.

Vivian was born October 14, 1913 in Ulin, MN to Dell and Lillian (Haas) Willis. She attended Minco School, and graduated from high school in Fargo, ND. Vivian married Algernon Dahl January 27, 1933 in Fargo. After their marriage they lived and farmed near Hamar, ND. They moved into Tolna in 1973. Algernon died June 11, 1998. They were blessed with 65 years of marriage. Vivian moved in with her daughter and son-in-law, Margy and John Messner, in Pekin in 2006 where they cared for her for nearly 8 years. Vivian lived life with humor, hard work, and with great love for her family and friends.

Vivian is survived by her children, Willis (Vivian) Dahl of Tolna, ND, Lyle (Carrol) Dahl of Tolna, ND, Margy (John) Messner of Pekin, ND, and Jane (Lyle) Forde of Carrington, ND; 19 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Vivian is preceded in death by her parents; husband Algernon; daughter Sally and son-in-law Leonard Messner; daughter-in-law Shirley Jean Dahl; grandson Jerry Dahl; and siblings Fred, Irene, John, Donald, Calvin, and Russell.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at New Life Fellowship, rural Hamar, ND. Visitation will be Friday, April 11, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m. at Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home, McVille, ND. Interment will be in Tolna Cemetery, Tolna, ND at a later date.
