Vivian Ringdahl

Vivian Ringdahl, 93, passed away August 9, 2011 at the Nelson County Health System - Care Center, McVille, ND.
Vivian Olea Lundeby was born June 24, 1918 daughter of Fred and Anna (Samuelson) Lundeby of rural Tolna, ND. She graduated from McVille High School in 1936. She married Carl Ringdahl of McVille in 1937. The couple worked summers in McVille and winters in Miami, FL until 1941 when they built a home in McVille and started farming the Ringdahl homestead in Field Township.
Vivian was very involved in the community and the McVille Lutheran Church. Some of her volunteer involvements included: Chairman of the Nelson County Housing Authority that was responsible for low income housing in McVille, Original member of the McVille Park Board, and board member of the McVille Hospital. She was a talented seamstress and homemaker. In later years Vivian and Carl spent their winters in Arizona and Florida near their children.
Vivian is survived by her five children: Eileen Dezotell of McVille, ND, Elsie (Ron) Reichert of Grand Forks, ND, Margaret Ryan of McVille, ND, and Marian (Joe) LoBiondo of Waynesville, NC, and Daniel (Mayela) Ringdahl of Juno Beach, FL; seven grandchildren: Claire Dezotell, Carl (Teresa) Dezotell, Sasha (Brian) Iversen, Noah (Lindsay) Ringdahl, Kristine Ryan, Marcus Ryan, and Alex (Stephanie) Reichert; five great grandchildren: Max and Gus Reichert, Maureen Beier, Emma Iversen, and Maya Ringdahl; sisters: Gudrid Gordon of Billings, MT, Solvieg (Bill) Nelson of Auburn, WA, and Liv Halvorson of McVille, ND; sisters-in-law: Shirley Lundeby and Ura Ward.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carl in 2003; brothers: Iver Lundeby, Tubby Lundeby, Ludwig Lundeby; sons-in-law: Bob Dezotell and Bill Ryan.
Funeral services for Vivian will be Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the McVille Lutheran Church, McVille, ND. Visitation will be Friday August 12, 2011 from 4 to 6 PM in the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home, McVille, ND and will continue one hour prior to services in the church. Interment will be in the McVille Cemetery.
The family asks that memorials be directed to the Hospital Foundation or the Nelson County Arts Council.
