Vivian V. Dahl

Vivian V. Dahl, age 76, of Tolna, ND, died Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Nelson County Health System - Hospital in McVille, ND after a 9 year battle with cancer.

Vivian Viola Vesey Dahl was born April 22, 1938 to Jean Vesey and Helen Odegaard Vesey Lovejoy in McVille, ND at the Community Hospital. She was raised on her uncle Raymond Odegaard's farm near where she attended 1st - 8th grades at Pilot Mound #4 School, Griggs County, ND. Vivian then attended McVille High School and graduated in 1956. Vivian was a member of the Tolna American Lutheran Church and Tolna American W.E.L.C.A.

Vivian loved listening to polka music. She also enjoyed her flowers and gardening in the summer and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her love for her family showed when she accepted a job as kitchen aide at McVille Nursing Home to allow her extra time to spend with her mother Helen Lovejoy.

Vivian will be remembered and deeply missed by her husband, of nearly 56 years of marriage, Willis of Tolna, ND; daughters Lori (John) Ternes of Flasher, ND and Cinde (Phil) Earley of Fresno, CA; son Steven (Leah) Dahl of Tolna, ND; 8 grandchildren Amanda, Michelle, Michael, Tyson, Alec, Traci, Kelly, and Paige; 3 great grandchildren Jeremy, Brianne, and Alexander; sisters Joyce (Ronnie) Hendrickson and Robbie (Rod) Carlson-Schmidt; and brother Ardell (Carol) Lovejoy.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; and sister Betty Dahlen.

Memorial Services for Vivian will be Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 11 a.m. at American Lutheran Church, Tolna, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 27, 2014 from 7 to 8 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 8 p.m. at American Lutheran Church and will continue an hour prior to services in the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in the Tolna Cemetery, Tolna, ND.
