Warren Westensee

Warren was born August 31, 1922 in Ramsey County, ND, the son of Herbert and Laura (Johnson) Westensee. He was raised on his parents farm and attended school in Bartlett, ND. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps on October 6, 1942 and served in southeast Asia, including India. Upon his honorable discharge, he came home to the family farm and married Annette Odstrcil in 1947. They had 2 children, Wayne and Elaine. Annette passed away in 1980. In 1981, Warren married Lorraine Woodruff, who passed away in 2010. He continued farming until his retirement in 2000. Warren moved to the Good Samaritan Society in December of 2010. He enjoyed being a ham radio operator in his spare time (callsign KAØFIN), along with traveling in his motorhome.

Warren is survived by his son, Wayne, and daughter, Elaine (Wes) Brooks, both of Lakota; a sister, Doris Jordan of Dallas, TX; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 4 step-daughters; and his faithful companion, Emmy.

He was preceded in death by both of his wives; 2 sisters, Evelyn and Mavis; and an infant brother, Harlan.

Warren's Funeral Service will be held at the Lakota Lutheran Church on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Sue Mackey. Interment will be in the Lakota Cemetery. The casketbearers will be Warren's family, and the honorary casketbearers will include all of his friends. Visitation will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota on Wednesday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and will continue at the church on Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
