Wayne Warren Ressler

Wayne Warren Ressler, 76, of McVille, ND, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 3, 2025, at his home in McVille, ND. He was the first-born son of Bud and Mary Helen (Heinz) Ressler on July 10, 1948, in Sharon, ND. He attended a one-room county school in Jessie, ND. At 11, Wayne continued his education at Binford High School, later graduating in 1966. He continued his education at NDSU and Interstate Business College.

On December 15, 1967, he married Kathy Sigette at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Jessie, ND. They settled in McVille, ND in 1968, where they began their life adventures. They purchased Anderson Supervalue, at just 22 years old. That was the start of the many business ventures that led him to find his 35-year career selling insurance at Berg Insurance.

Wayne was known as a “Jack of All Trades.” He could build and fix anything. Wayne’s true passion was restoring classic cars. Over the years, he has completed over 30 classic car projects. If he wasn’t working on a car, you know he wanted to be at the lake. He always had a smile on his face when he was out on the water. Between pulling people behind the boat – skiing, tubing, knee boarding, and wakeboarding and being out there skiing himself, he found joy in being out on the water with his family and friends.

Wayne served on the McVille Park Board for over 40 years, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and had 35 years of sobriety, which he and his family were extremely proud of. He was a committed member of the community, who touched the hearts of many lives.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kathy, McVille, ND; four sons and a daughter, Rick (Dawn) Ressler, Elk River, MN, Rod (Bobbie) Ressler, McVille, ND, Allan (Ann) Ressler, White Bear Lake, MN, Rory Ressler, Fargo, ND, and Amanda (Matt) Herrud, Fargo, ND; along with eight grandchildren, Andrew (Lexie), Jarrett (Chellbi), Matt (Camila), Evan, Alaina, Reese, and Cali; with his first great-granddaughter on the way. He has two brothers, Randy (Evy) Ressler and Larry (Karen) Ressler, both of Cooperstown, ND, with one sister, Lori Parson, McHenry, ND, alongside his brother-in-law Mike (Joneen) Sigette, and sister-in-law Coleen (Paul) Aaser- furthermore, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his son, Russell Ressler; his parents, Bud and Mary Helen Ressler; his brother, Shawn Ressler; his brother-in-law, Wes Parson; and his grandparents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 11, 2025, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Jessie, ND with visitation beginning at 10:00 am.

Visitation will be from 6-7 PM with a Rosary and prayer service at 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
